Nana O. Winbush APRN, MSN, PMHNP-BC
As an US Army Veteran and a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Nana has over 17 years of critical care and psychiatric experience in identifying and managing individuals across the lifespan. Her work focuses on Childhood Developmental Disability, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Insomnia, Suicide Ideation, Bipolar, Schizophrenia and other mental health issues. She is trained by renowned Psychiatrists in the Hampton Roads Area in Virginia, and collaborates to provide wrap around services to clients in need of mental health and wellness support.
Her education includes an Advanced Practice RN, Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specialization, from Walden University, and a Bachelor’s in Nursing Science from Hampton University.
Nana incorporates a humanistic philosophy of holistic care for both mind and body, and an abiding commitment to individualized, personalized, comprehensive care for her clients. She utilizes compassion, listening and attentive skills in helping individuals seeking mental wellness. Her approach in caring for individuals is applying humility, warmth, and understanding in her assessment.
In her free time, she likes to go for walks with her dog “Princess Lulu” and read books. She always tells her patients: “There’s hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.” – John Green.
